Gethin Thomas
Director
Gethin directs the delivery of high profile works, ensuring all technical content and output aligns with project briefs, contractual arrangements and financial agreements.
The main responsibilities of Gethin’s role include the safeguarding of AWA’s interests, stakeholder liaison, business development and relationship management.
Devising and directing the process in which all client and company objectives are achieved, he is exceptional forward-thinking and offers thorough operational direction, delivering varied and complex projects, as well as full client satisfaction.
Education Background
- Gethin attended Enfield Grammar School in North London where he grew up, completing his ‘O’ Levels and ‘A’ Levels.
- Gethin went to South Bank University where he completed his BEng (Hons) in Environmental Engineering, graduating in 1994.
- Gethin joined CIBSE whilst still at University as a Graduate before becoming a member of CIBSE and Chartered Engineering in 2006.
Professional Experience
- Gethin worked for Hayden Young and the MoD whilst completing his degree; Drake & Skull 1994-96; Blyth & Blyth 1996-2002.
- Gethin was with Maleon between 2002-2016, servicing clients such as BP and American Express in the UK, Asia and Africa, becoming an Associate.
- Gethin joined AWA in 2016 as Associate Director and was promoted to Director in 2022. He is invested in the growth of the company.
Hobbies & Interests
- Gethin is a keen sports fan enjoying football, rugby and cricket. He also plays in a 6-a-side football league to stay fit.
- Gethin’s hobbies include Photography, especially photos of live performers such a musicians, as well as the odd family wedding!
- Gethin loves travelling to see family in USA, Canada. He also enjoys going to the theatre to see both musicals and plays.
