Electrical Engineer

Ryan is an Electrical Engineer at AWA and part of a driven team working to achieve the highest quality of Engineering for all of our Clients.

Ryan has broad knowledge and experience in Electrical Engineering with a background of hands-on installation. Ryan can apply his practical skills & knowledge to his work to provide a cost effective and thorough design. His experience ranges from small & large residential sites, commercial and industrial developments, health care and the educational sector.

Professional Credentials

Education Background

  • Ryan attended William De Ferrers School in Essex where he grew up, completing both his GCSEs and ‘A’ Levels.

  • Ryan moved on to working as an Electrical apprentice where he began learning the methodology behind electrical installations. He attended college where he studied the principles of Electrotechnical Systems and produced an in-depth portfolio based on his own work and development. After completing all aspects of his apprenticeship, Ryan gained the qualification of Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems & Equipment and registered as a JIB Gold Card Electrician.

  • Ryan is a member of the IET and has achieved TMIET status. He is currently studying in his own time to complete his HNC and progress towards his professional registration to EngTech.

Professional Experience

  • Ryan worked for a number of years throughout London as an Electrical Apprentice and Qualified Electrician, gaining a variety of experience and knowledge. A typical day would involve installation of Electrical Systems and Equipment, Testing, Inspection, Fault Finding and Rectification.

  • Ryan progressed his career to Supervisor, managing other Electricians across various projects and began training as a Projects Manager.

  • Later in Ryan’s career he chose to down tools and begin his adventure in Electrical Design. Firstly, he began by specialising in design of Control Equipment for Electrical Distribution. Next, joining Ringway Jacobs as a Street Lighting Design Engineer where he worked to the highest-level set by British Standards to deliver compliant and cost-effective designs.

  • In 2020, Ryan joined AWA as an Electrical Engineer and has since further developed his career.

Hobbies & Interests

  • Ryan enjoys staying active and keeping fit. You’ll often find him playing football, out cycling or at the gym. He is a keen runner and regularly takes part in events.

  • Ryan likes to go hiking with his dog. His most recent adventures include Snowdon and Helvellyn. He is often described as a bit of a thrill seeker and invites challenge.

  • His other hobbies include watching his local Ice Hockey team (Chelmsford Chieftans), attending music/food festivals, and cheering on the mighty Hammers at the London Stadium.
