Beaulieu, nearby the site of the former Henry VIII palace at New Hall, is the new residential district on the edge of Chelmsford.
When complete, the development will provide 3,600 new homes and over 100 acres of parks and open spaces on the 240 hectare site along with a range of community facilities including two proposed primary schools plus a secondary school.
Linked by an extensive network of parkland and open spaces, there will be new health and sports facilities, local shops, schools and community facilities
The site has historically been used as farmland and has undergone extensive development in recent years. The site is a major contributor to the Chelmsford local development plan.
The Beaulieu development centres around New Hall School, which occupies the Grade I listed New Hall, and its registered park and garden. The development is conceived as a series of individually designed distinct neighbourhood areas that connect to the wider landscape and countryside.
All dwellings have been designed to Lifetime Homes and Secured by Design standards to accommodate the changing needs of residents. Each home boasts a carefully considered design and high quality specification, featuring the latest low energy high efficiency technologies, downlighting throughout, Fibre Optic connection capability, Gas fired central heating and hot water high efficiency system with central programme links to the heated chrome towel rail & radiators with individual thermostatic controls throughout.
The project was undertaken with very close coordination between the design team and the client to produce the required quality of design for the client.
At the heart of the Beaulieu development is Beaulieu Square a bustling community hub for the new and existing homes. Beaulieu Square will provide the residents with a mix of amenities within the development, including a Community Centre, food store and other retails spaces, Childcare day nursery & restaurant.
