132 new homes at the former Tower Court estate in Stamford Hill.
AWA have been appointed as Building Services Consultants by Countryside Properties for the development of the Tower Court Estate.
Situated adjacent to Clapton Common, Tower Court will comprise of 132 new homes with a mix of homes for social rent, shared ownership and private sale
The revamp of the Tower Court Estate next to Clapton Common forms part of the council’s estate regeneration programme, which aims to build nearly 3,000 properties across 18 sites.
The scheme will also offer over 3,000 Sqm of communal and accessible open space, and a new depot for the Hatzola ambulance service, the local Jewish-led fast response volunteer service.
The on-site basement level energy centre will be designed to provide heating & hot water via CHP (Combined Heat and Power Engine) to the 132 dwellings and the ambulance station.
The design is centered on a requirement to achieve 60% of the development annual heat requirement from CHP. As a result, the energy centre will incorporate one CHP engine which will produce 81kW of heat and 50kW of electrical power, together with 2No. 2,500 litres thermal stores which store heated water produced by the CHP.
Gas boilers have been installed to cover the remaining 40% of the annual heat demand and cover the CHP’s load during maintenance.
