This year AWA turned 20 and are grateful for so many successful years in business. From a home based start-up founded by Andy & Mike in 1996 AWA has grown into a strong team of over 20 Engineers based in our Maldon office.
The company celebrated the milestone with a number of events over the year, most recently in September with staff and their partners at Chelmsford Race Course; the sun was shining and everyone had a great afternoon.
In September we saw the grand opening of Bond Street, Chelmsford. A landmark project for the area, breathing new life into the city centre. It seems a long time coming since our first involvement with the project back in 2008. Just around the corner the Restaurant Quarter at the north end of High Chelmer shopping centre was also completed and opened to the public. Further up the road site activity is intensifying as Central Chelmsford Phase 2 is well under way, due for completion in 2017.
Back in May a team of 4 staff took part in the Maldon Mud Race. In the build up to the world famous event the quartet raised over £1700 for charity which was a great achievement. Read more about that here
At the races £197.47 was raised for the Little Havens Hospice and on the 21st October staff embraced ‘Wear it Pink’ day and along with other ‘pink’ activities and raised over £100 for a great cause.
With Christmas fast approaching, this year we have supported Save the Children by wearing our festive knits.
As 2016 draws to a close we reflect on the last 20 years, our achievements as an organisation and what has enabled us to successfully grow as a business. Going forward we will continue to focus on our consistent commitment to quality and customer service, as well as providing a platform for our staff to grow and invest in the Engineers of tomorrow.
Wishing you all Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year.
