We are delighted to announce that AWA have joined Mates in Mind, a registered charity that provides a framework to raise awareness, address the stigma of poor mental health and improve positive mental wellbeing for UK construction.
The charity, which aims to address poor mental health and improve wellbeing in the construction industry, it helps to make sense of available options and provides support to employers. It does so in partnership with leading charities and organisations such as Mind, Samaritans and Mental Health First Aid England.
Since its launch in 2017, the charity has supported awareness and training to more than 25,000 workers and currently reaches more than 80,000 employees and by 2025 Mates in Mind aims to have reached 75% of the construction industry
By signing up as a Supporting Partner, all AWA staff will now have access to information, advice and communication materials, as well as a range of awareness and training programmes.
As a supporter of Mates in Mind, we want to demonstrate our commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of our workforce. Mates in Mind helps us take an important step towards breaking the silence and stigma that can surround mental wellbeing in society, and, the construction industry, we are joining numerous other construction companies in supporting Mates in Mind, helping to improve the mental health and well-being of our people.
At AWA we are delighted to now be supporting Mates in Mind. Mental health is extremely important and to us in the construction industry, moving forward this is an excellent addition for the wellbeing of all our staff.
